LULUCF

LULUCF stands for land use, land-use change and forestry: the part of EU climate accounting that tracks emissions and removals from the land itself rather than from chimneys and exhaust pipes. It covers forest, cropland, grassland, wetland and settlement, and it is the mechanism by which a country's carbon sinks are set against its sources.
