Licensing

End-to-end support navigating Cyprus's regulatory and permitting framework

What we do

From grid application to environmental approval.

Cyprus has a multi-step licensing path for renewable energy projects. We run that path end-to-end for owners and developers: grid connection applications to the transmission/distribution operators, production licences with the regulator, building permits, and environmental authorisations under Cyprus law.

Service lines

Four streams of work.

Grid Connection Applications
Preparation and submission of grid connection requests to the Transmission & Distribution System Operator; technical studies, response handling.
Production Licence & Permits
Production licence applications, building permits, and environmental authorisations under Cyprus law, drafted, submitted, and defended.
Regulatory Strategy
Policy landscape analysis and regulatory roadmap to de-risk project timelines, anticipate framework changes, and avoid permit delays.
Stakeholder Coordination
Coordination with government bodies, local authorities, and grid operators throughout the licensing process. Single point of contact.
Typical engagements

Three patterns we see most often.

Full licensing run
Grid application, then production licence, then permits, then environmental sign-off. Owner-side, fixed-fee per project. Timeline depends on project size and grid section.
Targeted unblock
Project stuck at a specific stage (e.g. grid response, EIA scoping, council planning). We diagnose and run that stage to completion, then hand back.
Pipeline-level strategy
Developer with multiple projects in flight: sequenced filing, risk-weighted prioritisation, and one regulatory roadmap covering the portfolio. Retainer.
How to engage. Send us the project brief (site, capacity, timeline, where you are in the framework) and we'll scope a fixed-fee proposal. Email info@renewable-labs.com or visit renewable-labs.com/contact.
